Love is in the Air!

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of  wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV

Isn’t it amazing how the holidays remind us of the truths of God. At Christmas, we are reminded of the gift that was given to us; at Easter, we are reminded of the sacrifice that was made for us; and at Valentine’s Day, we are reminded of God’s love for us.

God’s Word teaches us that love never fails, love conquers evil, love covers all sins, and that we are to love one another as God loves us. I do believe the truth of these words; however, I also know the many times my flesh has been weak when it has come to loving one another.

There have been many times when I did not “love” my co-worker―the one who oozed negativity, the one who always had the latest piece of gossip, the one who took credit for my hard work, and the one who got on my very last nerve. How grateful I am, though, that we have an awesome example of loving one another in spite of ourselves. God knows it is not easy for us, so that is why He encourages us, coaches us, corrects us, empowers us by His Holy Spirit, and never, never, ever stops loving us.
